I have a d110
I would check for a loose wire/connection since you can wiggle wires and it start. Could also be a problem with a switch.
I wish you would have come here before blindly replacing parts but whats done is done.

This is what John Deere says in trouble shooting part of the manual if it will not start.
Brake pedal is not depressed.

Mower is engaged.

Battery terminals are corroded.

Battery not charged.

Blown fuse.

Fusible Link in starting circuit is blown - See your authorized dealer

So based on this and what you have said about it sometime starts if you wiggle the wiring, I would say check the mower engage switch and the brake pedal switch.

Start at the solenoid and follow the wires back
JD is fairly consistent with their wiring colours .
So any switch with 4 wires the black or white ones are for the magneto cut out.
The other coloured ones are the engine cranking switches.
In general they go
Solenoid - reverse -brake - PTO - Key - Battery
