I have a John Deere L110 that I've always had difficulty getting a good solid cut with. Deck is level, blades are sharp but it still misses spots (especially when I try and mulch with it). Speed isnt a factor as it can be slow or fast still the same issue. I have never replaced the deck belt- could this be a problem? Any suggestions on what I can do?

Kfred92,

You stated: "... but it still misses spots (especially when I try and mulch with it)."

Are the "spots" intermittent or consistent? Does cutting dry or wet grass any way change the spots? What is the size and shape of the "spots?"

About how many hours are on the current blade bearings in the deck? Have they ever been replaced?

Check the radial and lateral play on all the blade bearings. Important always, first disconnect the spark plugs and then take the deck blade belt off!
