More info...
It would not start before and you both those items and replaced them to fix it?

Does it try to start? Any sound? It cranks and cranks???
You haven't told us anything that can help us, help you!

There are safety switches that must be made before it will start. An operator must be in the seat, the brake must be engaged the blades must be disengaged... Etc.

JD wireing is a bit of an overkill.
They use both + and - controls so you will need to get a wiring diagram and better still a tech manual.
The JD manuals are very good, very comprenhesive and sets out a very clear step by step testing proceedure for diagnosing electrical problems.

Basically power goes to the ignition switch then to the PTO switch then to the neutral switch then to the brake switch then to the solenoid to energise the starter.
If any part of the chain is bad, no start.

Just to make things more complicated JD use a 4 pole solenoid and ther also have switches on the - control wire to the solenoid.
