Any suggestions on why this engine keeps backfiring through the muffler? Has new igniter. Thanks

Your anti fire solenoid on the bottom of the carb could be stuck in the open position if fitted.
On the bottom of the carb bowl will be a electrical wire which connects to the solenoid.
