JD L111 Mower engaging blade issues

On the left side of the mower deck next to the pulleys, there is a belt guard that moves when you engage/disengage the blade. What is this piece called. When I disengage the blade it pops to far back and when you try to reengage the blade it wont engage unless you manually pop it back in place before you reengage the blade. Any thoughts.

It is called a sheild and is held in place with either 2 or 3 bolts.
It stops the belt jumping off the left pulley when you dissengage the deck.
They are a wear item and get replaced hopefully before the belt has cut them in 1/2.
It is not supposed to move period.
You can order it direct from Deere via their parts portal

Ok that did not wok so we will try this

JD used the same on on all 42 and I think 38" decks or rather one fits all.

Thanks for the reply. What I am talking about sits on a spring on the bottom and a rod that runs across the deck and attaches to the tensioner pulley (I think that what its called).

don't think, know
Click on the text in green on my previous post.
That will download the parts diagram for your deck
look for the bit you are talking about
If it does not have a number it is not a replaceable part
There are only 3 pieces of plastic on a 42" deere deck.
one is the cover
one is the discharge chute
the lst is the end of the pto cable and not replacable by itself.
None of them should move
