Just got a 3200 with 61" deck and 37hp vanguard efi. The wot rpm was off from the factory. After the first mowing it was obvious something was way wrong. I put my tach on it and had 2750 rpm at wot. I have it turned up to 3400 rpm right now, but need to know the book spec. Thank you for your help.

Need model, type and code to run it through the briggs dealer site to get the briggs factory specs.

Hello, I realize this is an old thread but my question pertains to rpm settings for a 37HP EFI Vanguard on a new Ferris IS3200Z. I installed a Trail Tech panel mount tachometer and need to know the proper setting for the tachometer setup. The “Pulse Per Revolution” setting must be programmed during the initial setup. The possible settings are: 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 4.0. Can someone please tell me the correct setting for the setup of this 2 cylinder, 4cycle application. I assumed the WOT was properly set to 3600 RPM by the dealer during initial setup so I set the throttle to wide open and tried each PPR setting, expecting one of them to show 3600 RPM but none were close. I’m not sure which PPR setting is correct since the WOT seems to be off. Thanks in advance for any assistance provided.

Have a little think about it.
You bought the unit with the wrap around wire that takes a signal off one spark plug wire.
The spark is generated by the flywheel magnets passing the coil so the mower sparks 2 times per revolution.
There is a coil for each cylinder so from a spaking point of view 1 cylinder , 2 cylinder, 3 cylinders or 10 cylinders no difference to how many times the coils fire for each cylinder.
