Greetings -- new member here. I have a CMM1200 (actually a converted CMM1000, done in 2009), whose battery is going (not lasting as long, engine slows more in heavier grass than it used to). I'm trying to decide between getting a new battery (an OEM BB BP17-12 for $160, not a cheaper knockoff) or getting a brand new cordless B&D mower.
On the one hand, if I go with getting a new battery for the CMM1200, it will save me about $200 for now, I'll get a few more years out of it, and hopefully by then there will be a better selection of Li-ion battery mowers from B&D.
On the other hand, if I decide on a new B&D mower now, which one do people here consider "the" replacement for the CMM1200? I'm shying away from the SPCM1936, because it's significantly heavier, more expensive, and I'm not interested in it being self-propelled (uses more battery power, and I like the exercise anyway). I'm currently narrowing in on the CM1936, but I'd like to hear opinions here. Thanks!
