idle way too high

I have a husqvarna lawn tractor with a Briggs 24hp inteck engine. Its brand new and I need to lower idle. Any help?

The engine has an idle adjustment screw located on the carburetor. If you twist the screw counterclockwise, it should lower your idle. The idle screw is located on the throttle side of the carb. Be sure to not adjust the fuel/air ratio screw on the carb if it has one.

Please explain why you need a low idle ?

If the mower is brand new take it back to the dealer for a warranty service, there may be big problems with the govenor and you will void the warranty by fiddleing with the engine.
