I have just acquired a older Murray 16hp 42" riding mower. The engine is a Tecumseh OHV 16hp. I have looked on the rear and under the seat for any kind of markings but do not see anything that resembles a model number.

The mower did start last season and I need a battery to start and will probably need a carb, or cleaning.

The main concern right now is the rider will only steer one way. I see the steering plate or gear under the gas tank area has only half of its teeth. So I assume that is my problem.

I need the manuals and or parts books and a place to purchase these parts. If someone could be so kind to direct me to some of these thing that would be great. Thanks,

Thanks, I looked at a lot of those one by one. I cant find mine Specifically. But It looks like it is form the 1996 or 1997 timeframe. The steering gear assembly is the correct style. Thanks
