hydrostat problem

The clear tube from the hydrostat was leaking, replaced it, now hydrostat has a chatter and loss of power. Possibly trapped air? How to correct it?

what kinda mower when i do my Exmark i replace the filters and fluid then jack it up to get the drive wheels off the ground and run them in forward and reverse to work out all the air never under a load

Thanks, Scott!!! I tried your suggestion and it seems to correct the problem. I mowed for more than an hour with no more problems. Forums like this are priceless, thanks to folks like you.
