HR215 seems pretty loud

Greetings, long time lurker, first time posting! I have 2 Honda mowers, an old one with a plastic deck that I have had for 15 years (it was old when I got it off the dump) and my “new” HR215.
My question is how loud should the 215 be? It is much louder than the other one. I took the muffler off, but nothing looks obvious.
Any thoughts? Thanks for the help!

Remove spark arrestor & inspect condition, remove buildup of carbon with small wire brush. Adjust valves with engine cold. I have HR215SXA 1990 model I purchased new, engine is quiet.
