How much would a replacement Biggs and Stratton engine cost

Hi I have a question for you guys I have a Briggs and Stratton Intek 20hp cingal cylinder and it is locked up where I can't turn it over by hand or by the starter I was just wondering how much would it be to get a different Briggs and Stratton engine replaced at a small engine shop. Looking for either a cingal cylinder Intek 20hp or a v twin Briggs and Stratton 20hp if any of you guys can help me please respond back thanks.

Or go to Tulsa Small Engine Warehouse and then do the switch yourself est. $500 - $600.

As a follow up, check that the starter gear isn't jammed in the flywheel ring gear also I would remove the flywheel to be sure a magnet hasn't come loose and jammed against the stater. Long shots but I have had both happen, do the cheap things first.

Well i just looked at the starter gear i could move the gear back and forth a little bit but the motor didnt turn over by hand it could be a magnet or something else could someone help me here thanks

Pull off the flywheel and chack the magnets on the inside, they oft come loose and can lock up the engine quite solid.
When pulling the flywheel do not hammer on the outside of the fly wheel which is one reason why they fall off in the first place.

Remove the spark plug and try to turn th engine back & forth some times a silly thing like a screw can fall out of the carb and get stuck in the engine.

If you need to replace the engine there are a few places that specialise in remaindered engines quite cheap.
