Please see attached photos. I just bought a snapper rear engine rider and mowed for only the 1st time and hit a fairly big rock in tall grass. As soon as I hit the rock, there was a huge dust cloud and the deck started to rumble...I instantly tried to let my foot off to raise the deck/blade and the engine automatically shut off.

I managed to raise the deck/blade and started it up again. The engine started fine. As soon as I tried to lower/engage the deck/blade it shut off again.

At that point I figured I was done and drove it around to the garage (deck up). I then took the attached photos. It looks like the blade is completely bent and STUCK within the decks edges. In addition now the deck edges are dinged up. :/

Do you have any solutions as to how to remove the blade safely? Do you think once the blade is removed and replaced this will solve the problem of the engine shutting off when I try to lower/engage the deck/blade? Also any reccomdations on how to repair the dinged was up edges of the hi-vac deck?

Any light you could shed on this would be helpful as I do not live near a lawn mower repair shop. Thanks in advance.

Welcome

First,
Go to the other post and hit delete in the lower left corner.
You will not get any more answers by posting twice.
IT just confuses & annoys people.

Now for you blade.
Take it off
Buy a new one
If the new one fouls on the deck then the deck is bent and will require some careful adjustments with a 20lb hammer

Weld the hole on the deck
paint it red
& mow higher in future.
