I recently acquired the Hustler in the photos and I am having trouble identifying the model.

It currently does not run and I am hoping to get it running to use around the place. It is powered by a kohler engine but again I have no idea what model the actual engine is.

I have been able to get it to crank but even with a bit fuel down the carb I am not getting it to fire, closest I got was flames coming out of the carb.

Any way, any info or and ID so I can find some repair / workshop manuals would be great.

Is there someway to identify it? I can't find any markings or ID plates?

I don't know, I just did a little snooping on google and found the model numbers.

Start with the engine.
Most will have a serial number which has a date code in it so that will give you a year.

Not sure if you are still trying to identify your machine, but from the photos it would appear to be a Model 272A which is a 1970s era Hustler product.
