another question: the fan blades all broke off the transmission. it was ran an hour. Could this cause any problem?

Good news and bad news. The "click" is good, indicating that your clutch circuit as well as your safety switches are good. Make sure the belt is tightly on the clutch pulley. The fan blades by the transmission cool the transmission. It is hard to determine if and how much damage was done with one hours running time.
Your question is not clear. It now won't start? or it will start but the blades won't engage.
All the fan blades were broke off of my L130 when I bought it used 6 years ago, never replaced. My place is 4 acres, half lawn, half woods. Besides cutting the grass I pull a 40 cu ft shredder vac to collect leaves during the fall and winter.
