This isn't about a lawn mower but it's a small engine. I recently broke my starter rope, I rewound the spring and replaced the rope no proplem. The problem is when I put the spring housing back on with all the screws installed and pull the rope it doesn't rewind. Now if I just hold it in place without the screws it rewinds fine. Any ideas, I'm stumped.
Mark thanks for the response, the problem was after I looked at the piece of rope that I took out. I didn't install the pull rope correctly, I anchored the rope and put it through the pully, when I should of taken one wrap around the pully and then go through it, everything is fine now.
