Yes, but you have to make it. Take a 12 inch stick, mark it at 6 inches , push the stick in the tank, that 6 inch mark is a full tank. this way the stick is reversible. Too high over the 6 inch mark and it will run on the ground. I don't know how JD got by the government with this situation, a black tank and no way to know when the tank is full. All the regulations and engineers and this is what they came up with is really hard to believe. BTW, when the light first comes on, you have about 1/4 gallon left in the tank.
