I have owned 5 homes since 1971 and never had a lawn mower, or a gardener. I have always lived in semi Rural areas and most of our landscapes would be considered 'rustic'. Our latest and probably last home is on an acre and about 2/3 of that is what I call California orchard grass, it grows when it starts raining in December, grows to as high a 3' and when it stops raining and dries out in May you cut it once.
Got real tired of hand and pusher weed whackers, just bought a new Husqvarna YTA 24V48. It took a few passes with the high weeds, next year it will get a few easy cuts. HAPPY!
