where does the extension spring go on a bolens 38" deck

What is the model and serial number of your tractor? We are not standing next to you, so you give us practically nothing to help you. Unless you get very lucky any responses you get will be only shots in the dark.

Don't have the information about your mower but maybe you can benefit from these pics of these MTD ( Bolens) decks.

If he has a MTD Bolens those may help, but if he has one of the good old Bolens “mules” we are going to need numbers, as it will change with deck size.
