Engine Oil Capacity Cub Cadet GT 3200 with Kohler Command 25

Just wondering if anyone can advise me about this.

I have just done a service on my GT3200 with Kohler Command 25 engine. Cub manual says sump capacity is 64 Oz (equivalent to 1.89 ltrs) another source I found online says 1.9 quarts (equivalent to around 1.8 Ltrs). I have just filled the engine with new oil and it took 1.55 ltrs and says it's about up to the full mark on the dipstick. This is after running it for a bit to fill the new oil filter and adding some oil after that. The mower has seen some work with the previous owner and has down around 715 hours (on the dash meter).

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks in advance..

Check the dip stick against the side of the engine
The full line should be just short of the sump gasket
If that is where the oil level on your mower is then all is fine.
Above the top line is a lot more problematic than not quite to the bottom line.
Do believe this is a horizontal engine were talking about.

Correct if the two GT3200 versions I looked at is an example as the GT3200 is a shaft drive model.

As for refill oil capacity it can vary some as some oil is always left in the engine. The 2 qts (1.9liters) is a refill of a dry engine. Also different oil filters have different fill capacities too. Filters agerage around 8 us oz but can be on either side of this. Otherwords the refill capacity is just a guideline amount.

Can you not fill it up to the FULL mark on the stick or plug? These engines never top off at some XX ounce level. Depends on the amount removed, oil filter and such. Dip you tip it to the rear corner to get more out? Using a suction pump for oil removal? Dropping the lower oil sump plug?

Call "Kroller" and ask them how many ounces of oil do you need.

My two 24hp kohlers I change the oil the same every time. And they allways take different amounts of oil to get them to the full mark.
