I have a John Deere X324 with a 675 cc Kawasaki engine that runs for a few minutes then dies. I can hold the choke and get it to run a little. I have spark in both cylinders. The gas is new with no ethanol and has Sta-Bil in it. It does not smell like it's flooded. This just started. After it cools, it runs fine for a few more minutes. The engine was manufactured in 2009. Any ideas?
Remove the fuel line at the carb and crank the engine check for a strong fuel flow.
Remove the float bowl and clean it .
reconnect the fuel line and crank the engine for the same time as before.
You should get roughly the same amout of fuel in both cases.
