Echo SRM 225 - SN S89312#######

First-timer:

I too have an Echo SRM 225 trimmer (purchased in 2013). It wouldn't start, purchased after market carburetor, ran great that day, one week later it won't stay on. It starts and immediately shuts off. Checked arrestor screen, no screen, cleaned it anyways. I started it without arrestor, it started ran for about 30 seconds, died out and it won't start at all now. I switched the new carb for the original echo carb, but with new bulb, still won't start. Is it time for a newer model? different brand?

Where to start ?
First step is to confirm you have the fuel lines connected right
Fill the tank to the brim and see if it will run
If yes then tip 2/3 out and see if it runs
If no then swap the fuel lines over

baby steps but the service manual is 80 pages long & I have no intention of rerighting it here .
