I bought my 2003 model 1550 cub cadet used and it has always moved slow. I use it only for snow blowing and it is fast enough for that ( I blow with the pedal completely depressed) However if I want to go 1/2 mi down the road to blow out a friend, it takes forever to get there. Any suggestions?

Possibly a worn-out drive belt ..??
Or a dragging brake..??

This tractor has a hydrostatic trans. so I would say the forward transmission linkage is out of adjustment.
