Cub Cadet Headache

Cubbie Cadet 2166 with Kohler CH16s single
Obviously horizontal shaft
Weak spark from coil
Want to convert to regular coil & stop this digital foolishness.
So many numbers, and their cross reference numbers, and the collegeof Youtube was of no help


The PROBLEM I have run into is I've read the flywheel is different than a reg flywheel and a regular coil won't work unless I pay $250+ for a new flywheel & coil
Dealers & internet searches told me the same thing.
But when I do a search for a conversion kit for this engine I come up with #25-584-15-s
Dealer said he never heard of it,
OPE has one for $50
Kohler Part # 2558415S Magneto Digital Ignition Module
Don't mind spending the money if I have to, but I hate to throw money away on something that isn't what I need

Looks like the CH16 used the DSAM system on certain specs. That DSAM had been replaced with the 12 707 01-S DSAI kit whch uses the 12 584 17-S module

Live & learn
The coil I was refering to was indeed bad
I also mentioned that is a horizontal shaft engine CH16 and it supposedly had a different flywheel.
I finally got a new coil thanks to ILENGINE andfinally got the old one off, what a job should have pulled the engine
Got to looking at old coil & it had the same numbers as the new one
Good thing it was bad , I'd hate to think I did all that work for nothing.
