Need some input on this Cub. A 1782 deisel.Runs great for about 1/2 hour then looses power + black smoke then dies ,hard to restart right away,smoke and rough running. leave sit for awhile and runs great again,Just been serviced a/f f/f lof etc. Fuel solenoid and fuel press ok. Does not overheat or lose oil press. Any ideas?

The D7 series of Kubota diesels I think have been pretty reliable little engines. All I can think of is to double check everything, including oil level and kind, and see if anything changes. Does this engine have any kind of particulate filter on it for air quality? Maybe that is giving some grief after operating for a while.
