Most likely things to cause it would be an intake valve that isn't seating correctly, or the flywheel is sheared and trying to fire too soon.

Most likely things to cause it would be an intake valve that isn't seating correctly, or the flywheel is sheared and trying to fire too soon.
The valve can also stretch making the gap too small or none leaving it open too long\permanently.

If this happened all of a sudden with no indications of problems before then I would suspect something on a valve seat. If it has been tinkered with then I would suspect a timing issue.
