After a couple of years with bad crabgrass problems and trying several pre-emergents, I used Pre-San Granular 12.5G, 100 lbs. per acre. Working great, but terribly expensive for my 4 acres of Zoysiagrass. Anyone have a cheaper alternative granular agent that works as well?

Thanks

Baking Soda will kill crabgrass in a couple of days. Make sure to wet the grass first, then apply baking soda. It will turn the crabgass black, yet it harms no other vegatation or animals.

 I didn't know baking soda gets rid of crabgrass. That is a lot cheaper and of course better for animals and the environment. Does it work on dandelions too? I've got tons of them!

I'll try that on areas where it's growing, but my goal is to stop it from sprouting in the first place.
