i have a B&D cmm1200
about 5 yrs old, been running great,
before this winter i replaced the breaker and worked fine,
used it once this spring no problems,
this weekend went to use it and got nothing,
when it was the breaker it would start and shut off, now i get nothing to start,
i tried bypassing the breaker and still nothing,
thinking switch in handle,
would i be on the right path thinking its the switch?
i opened the handle and didnt see anything obvious, wires looked good, except a little black spot on a red wire, but wire itself looked good,
looking at this as replacement part,
anything else i should check before purchasing the switch?
and is switch easy replacement?

Yes, you need to purchase an inexpensive multimeter tool, instructions included, and troubleshoot. Sears etc. have these, shop online for best price. This tool will enable you to locate isolate & locate problem.

Very carefully try pushing a pin into the black spot then try again on a red area.
If the black spot is harder than the red areas that suggests a break in the wire, generating heat & burning the insulation.
