I bought a bolens mower off of a guy with a blown motor , I have 12 hp B&S motor problem is old motor had the 2 wire red and orange hook ups under fly wheel and the black and grey wire hooks up at the coil?? ok here is the issue my other motor B&S 12 hp only has 1 wire out from fly wheel and 1 wire coming off the coil. When I removed this motor from old murray mower the coil wire was ground to side of motor at the throttle and then had a yellow wire ran from ignition switch to the grounded spot to kill the motor. When I placed this motor on the new mower the bolens I can get it to fire up by the key but can not kill it with the key. Can anyone help me with the wiring on this Im confused as can be.
you will need your complete model number from under seat or elsewhere for correct wiring diagram. MTD website should have all information on your tractor.
