Ball bearing for Jacobsen Park 30

Perhaps its all over now. After 31 years under my wings the left hand side ball bearing for the Reel A-3172 is worned out. According to a part list I found the part No. for the bearing should be 07074.
I have been told the model is "Park 30" however I have a sulky on mine.

I am not sure its worth a repair.
Any one who can tell we where to find this ball bearing 07074 or what type this ball bearing is? Guess its not metric...

As a rule I find bearings are easy to come by. When you remove the old bearing parts there should be a number on one of them which will be your bearing number. Most any auto parts will should be able to get you that bearing using that number. If you don't have that number, measure the shaft, housing, and how wide they are, and with that information they should be able to get you a bearing. You can also buy bearing off E-Bay.

Thanks. Not so easy to remove bearing. Guess the complete left side must be removed. But should be possible.

The manual I have is for model Park 30 issued January 1 1949 and cover serial numer with serial number 1730-2101 and up.
My label show two numbers, 63002 and 24883. I guess my park 30 is from early 60-ties. But no other manuals can be found other than the manual from 1949.

I am just looking at a picture, so don't what kind of job to remove the bearing. We live many miles apart. Maybe a little heat to remove the race off the shaft and a three jaw puller to remove the race from the housing? The numbers you are showing 63002 is a good bearing number and the 24883 is a good seal number, but form where I am sitting I don't know if they fit your Park 30? Do you have any bearing sales businesses in Sweden because I am sure they could help you get the right bearings. We have a auto parts store here in the US (NAPA) what will get you just about any bearing needed. Your mower looks to me like it is very fixable without very much work.

Yes... I managed to remove the ball bearing. Not too difficult after all. Only hard work. But, its not possible to read what type of bearing it is. Very rusty so impossible to read the number on the inner ring.

Anyone who can help with the type No. of ball bearing?

Ball bearing is metric...yes. Size 52x25x15 mm. My Park 30 is now running again and I feel it is like new.


One other thing I have found is that the spark is getting weaker by the years. I have to adjust the sparkplug to 0.3 mm. Guess this is caused by the magnet is getting weaker by the years and that it need to get re-magnetized. Nothing to worry about.

Both the magnets loose some of their magnetism over time & heat speeds up this process and the wires in the coil harden over time and insulation breaks down so wind by wind they start to short out and also loose power.
The magnets can be remagnetised but you will need to find a specialist who does anchient machines as the equipment is not very common. Restoration companies ( cas & / or motorcycle ) are the sorts of places to look as we need to beef up ols magnetos all the time.
Not much cheaper than replacing but some times there just are no spares available

also make sure the points are very very clean. file or even sand blast them lightly
