I have a 17.5 briggs engine (31c707 0230-E1) on a craftsman LT-1000. I recently replaced the carb after the air filter became flooded with gas. I was never really satisfied with the replacement carb as it like to surge at times, but it works. Now, a few weeks later, the mower is blowing white smoke but only when I engage the blades. It also lets out some white smoke near the air filter and when i take out the dipstick right after shutting it off. Any advice is appreciated
Sounds like the first signs of the head gasket going south. That is usually one of the first symptoms before getting to were it will fog mosquitos are a normal basis.
