Hi, new to site so appologies if in wrong place!. Have a ride on mower, with a 2007 B&S 21000 series single cylinder 350cc engine.
Running on SP98 (4*) as only fuel available here without ethenol. Coil died recently and replaced with aftermarket one! Engine coughs and splutters when accelerated too fast (fine if done slowly) Suspect flooding?. Cleaned fuel system, carb,. filter etc., adjusted valve clearances, checked exhaust. Recent problem, but works fine if throttled up slowly. Anyone have experience or suggestions? Cheers NTT

Is the governor spring and linkage free or possibly sticking ?

Will check tomorrow. Would this not be worst with slow acceleration, if it was sticking?

Hard to say at this point but I'd still bet on a fuel / carb problem

Try applying a little choke when gun the throttle and see if that helps.
