The Ryobi 40 Volt Li-Ion batteries are totally different than even the original Greenworks 40 Volt Li-Ion batteries, and according to the Greenworks facebook page the G-MAX batteries are sold only in the US market. However, the Greenworks Li-Ion batteries are about the lowest priced of any brand, and they will be available shortly on Amazon for less than $120 for the large 4 Ah (146 Wh) battery and less than $80 for the small 2 Ah (73 Wh) battery. I know of no other manufacturers than make batteries that are compatible with Greenworks 40 Volt Li-Ion batteries.
