I love the looks of the Aussie mowers but why are the decks so shallow?
Because we are upside down here and we have to hold the grass down.:laughing:
They are all from the 50's & early 60's so were all side discharge.
We also use swing back blades on large plate blade carriers so the air flow under the deck is totally different.
High arch mowers came in mid 60's. when there was a fashion change from narrow & tube leaf grasses to broad leaf grasses like Kikui & Buffalo.
Supposidly from South Africa & the USA. Prior to that we were trying to grow English grasses like the good little colony we were which mow better with reel type mowers.
