Good Morning Everyone,
I have come to your's and other sites over the last 6 years for suggestions on Simplicity Garden Tractors.
I figured it was time to participate.
I have a 7012H Landlord that was tired when I got it, but it came with the 42" deck with electric lift, and a snow blower,
so it fit my needs rather well....
I have a little shop/man cave that sets on 1/2 acre with a wide, long drive way, and the blower come in handy in the winter months.
After a couple years, the engine got tired, so I planned to rebuild, but I started looking at ways to increase the HP and found an option with the "Preditor 22/24HP" at Harbor Freight.
I am not a Harbor Freight fan. but in this particular application their Preditor engine (Honda knock off) fir the bill perfectly.
I did a little research and found an aluminum adapter online that coupled the engine right up to the Simplicity drive line.
I had to slightly clearance the frame for the started and oil filter, but only slightly.
The tractor now has more than enough power, and at slightly more that the cost of a Kohler rebuild kit.
As soon as I figure out how to load in some photos I will do so.
Again, its nice to meet you all, and thanks for the assistance you have offered in the past.

I forgot to add the exhaust portion of the engine swap.
The HD883 Exhaust pipes fit perfectly, and free flow.
The sound is very muffled, and the chrome is an added plus.
I had to add little 90 degree tips to ends, or it would burn the grass, it I let set and idle on the grass.
If anyone needs the websites for any of the decals, engine conversion/adapter just let me know.
it is incredibly reliable and with the leather bucket seat cut down to side it makes mowing and blowing even more fun.
I will likely put the Simplicity for sale this summer, as I found a liquid cooled 345 John Deere with hydraulics, power steering, 48" deck & 42" snow blower.
I plan to add a large garden at the shop, and want to get a 42" 4380M or a 4381M (BM18828) rototiller for the JD.
I know I resurrecting an ancient thread here, but I just wanted to say, WOW. Amazing work on this. Looking to buy a Simplicity myself and your work is inspiring!
thank you very much !
i have been mowing with it this summer, but it is difficult to raise the deck enough in the heat of the summer.
the old JD I have can be raised to about 4.25"
