My son gave me this to play with to see if i could get it running i put a new battery in it and replaced a fuse got the engine to start then replaced trans short belt and the drive belt with Kevlar belts. the mower starts great but when put in gear and step on the gas it jerks at first take off and i have no brakes when pushed. i put new brake pads on it and adjusted them it stopped the first few times and then it didn't have to shut off to stop it. it appears to me that the transmission is staying in gear and when brakes applied, they start to smoke. trying to decide whether to sell it for parts if i can't get it to stop Thanks.
