Just picked up a 99 928d yesterday. The hydraulic lift isn't working and I'd like to see if anyone has any ideas. Ive checked the fuse and run the wiring from the handle to up under the fuse box to make sure it's plugged in.
I have a voltmeter, if someone could tell me if this should have power to one side switch all the time or just power to relay, or exactly where to check for incoming power to pinpoint where the problem is? Thanks

Pulled it apart and tried jumping over the switch and still nothing. I have 12volts going from the fuse to the wire up to switch. Not sure how it operates after that. Anyone know what the mercury switch does?

First test your switch open your control box and check if you do get 12 volts when pressing on your lift up button if yes then lift up your seat and follow the wires you have an hydrolic solenoid you can remove it quite easy and take a battery and test it if it does click check your ground or make a new ground that was my problem with mine

Is there a separate belt that drives the pump? Check the belt.
