I HAVE BEEN FIDDLING WITH MY BRIGGS 15 HP SINGLE CYLINDER MOWER
I HAD IT RUNNING AND SOUNDED OK BUT WAS QUITE UNRESPONSIVE TO THROTTLE MOVEMENT
I HAVE SET VALVES AT WHAT I BELIEVE TO BE CORRECT GAPS
I HAVE FUEL IN CARB BUT IT IS NOT BEING DRAWN INTO CYLINDER AND NOW WILL NOT START AT ALL ?

Had a similar engine in the shop a few years ago that acted just like you described. the intake lobe on the camshaft had worn almost round, and was only opening the intake about .030 .

Remove the plug and the valve cover, roll the engine over and see if the valves are opening all the way, or just slightly.
