I own nothing but lawn boys, but looking to add a snapper to the line up. Found an older, self propelled one with the Robin engine. Guy told me it was a 4 cycle. I hoped it was the 2. I've read good reviews of these mowers. I like the looks of the self propel system. It's looks heavy duty. Do they have aluminum decks? They're asking $60. Is it a good buy? Here's a couple pics.

wow for $60 absolutely buy it! the deck looks ok, it is steel not aluminum. the aluminum decks i think ended in 1979. thats a post 1990 deck. but u could find a good deck if u waned to swap the engine. heck ya buy it!

I did buy it. Got my first chance to mow with it today. I'm very impressed with the power, and self propel system. It's a brute to say the least. It's a welcome addition to my Lawn Boy mowers. I'm wanting to get a mulch cover and the ninja blade so I can mulch with it. I loaned it to a friend of mine, who's mower was broken. They asked if it was for sale. I replied with a friendly "no" haha.

I will. Was hoping this one was. I'm a firm believer in the 2 cycle Lawn Boys!

I forgot to ask u if the throttle is correct on that snapper. Since that motor was not original to that deck, are the throttle positions reversed?...if throttle is at stop is motor on fast and if throttle is on fast is motor on stop? If so lawnmower parts dot com has good original looking replacement throttles for around $12. That's where i have replaced a couple of mine, just as info. If u look it up use snapper model #21R00PC.
