Craftsman 6.5 hp Briggs Stratton engine makes grinding noise...

Mower starts with difficulty, usually needs a starting spray in the filter. It works well in the easy areas but the moment it hits a rough patch it starts making horrible grinding noises, feel like coming from engine or engine shaft against bearing. It dies quickly and needs restart.

Start by cleaning the carb throughly and checking the oil. Once you get it starting and running good we can work on the gringing.
