John Deere 112L doesn't always turn over

My uncles JD doesn't always start. If you pull up on thus little purple wire, it will usually engage. It seems like there may be a loose connection? I know the battery is good and charged. It just started doing this behavior. Before it was fine- could it be a solenoid? Thanks for any guidance.
