Hi, All. This is a great board and I look forwards to reading and hopefully helping on this site!

I am having some trouble replacing the blades on my Murray Model #42515X92B.

It says on the label on the mower it takes a #492418 Hi-Lift Blade. The local parts store gave me a Oregon 97-013 Blade (2 of them) When I engaged the mower the blades hit the deck. The length of the blades are 21.3 inch. Is this too long for a 42 inch deck?

I am just cutting my grass with a side discharge. Would I be better off with the 3 in 1 blades vs. the hi-lift blades?

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

WELCOME to LMF...

Measure your original blades length Diagonally ...
Measure the width...
Get the same center hole size...
And check the original for any blade scallops for clearance...
Then check replacements against your measurements.
Hi lift blades will move more air, but if you have sandy soil they also pick up a lot of sand, & that will shorten their life somewhat...
I try to fit Oregon mulching blades on all my mowers :smile:KennyV
