When I try to turn the engine over (key start), it just clicks. Is it a dead battery or the selenoid/starter?
Will a jump from my car battery bring it to life?

Could be either.
Jump from the car but dont have the engine running as you could fry the electrics.
If it dosent start could be solenoid..
Jump the 2 wires on top of solenoid to see if solenoid problem.

Forgot to add have the key of JD turned to on position.
Use a pair of pliers.
One wire is from battery and other wire to starter.
Place pliers over two wires.
If battery good engine should turn.

I had a similar issue years back and bought a new battery. It did not solve the problem so I bought it back to the dealer (Under Warranty) and the problem was the valves needed adjusted. The valves being out of adjustment caused too much back pressure or something that made it hard to turn over.

Just a thought.
