I have the Poulan XT Riding Mower that came without the factory headlights. I bought a Farm/ATV headlight from my local Auto Zone store. It has a positive wire and a ground wire off of the light. How would I go about hooking this up to my mower without running it straight to the positive and negative terminals on the battery. My mower does not have the factory headlight on/off switch. I basically want to make it work only when I have the key turned over to on? can anybody help me with the wiring on this? thanks.

1) Do you have a voltmeter?
2) Do you have documentation on the key switch?

without either 1 or 2 above the easiest way would be to mount a separate switch(high enough
amp rating to handle the current the light draws).
run a wire from the mower's battery(+) to one side of the switch, the other side run a wire to your
new light(red wire on the light), the black wire of the light should be able to be connected to the
mower's metal frame.
