Recently the round mower gearbox cover came off which allowed debris to get into the deck gearbox. Afer cleaning up everthing I re-filled the gear box and put the cover back. (It remained on top of the deck). Now this has happened again. Does anyone know whats going on. This cover just presses in by hand. I am very suprised that it is not threaded.

If you can not keep a cap secure, try some adhesive, like trim adhesive or silicon sealer,... If that fails you can tap the hole with standard pipe threads & screw a plug into it. But you May have to drill a small hole in the plug, If it uses that point as a vent... KennyV

thanks
this thing is somewhere around 3" dia so threading would not be a DIU job. I may try that silicone gasket sealer option. Lsat resort will check with the dealers shop.
