Has anyone made any pickles yet? Tis the season soon. I love the way the house smells when you are making pickles and jams and the like, love them all.

No but its something we plan on along with a few other things. The biggest issues is that right now we have part of our property that was left in a "dump" like state by the past owners so clearing the trash is easier said than done.

That sucks! I am new to it but trying to jump into it with both feet. It doesn't look overly difficult. I have some old recipes that my great gram wrote down many years ago and she was fantastic at it.

We have made several batches of summer squash pickles and sweet pickles. I love this season too, it's the best! Nothing beats going to the garden and picking out dinner!

I agree completely, we have already decided the garden will be at least twice as big next year. Does anyone have any good suggestions on books for pickling? I'd like to do some but do not know where to start.
