Anyone worked on a Toro Model 30102 Proline 32"

After 20 yrs of mowing and sitting out in the rain, my Toro 32" walk behind is giving up! Oh, the 12.5 Kohelr still starts great and runs great, but the beast refuses to move (except sligthly in Reverse).

I'm guessing transmission, which I can order from Parts tree, but I want to know if it also needs a transmission drive shaft too? The transmission shaft turns until you apply pressure to the go handle, then there is simpy no power to the wheels, and the shaft stops turning.

Anyone who has worked on these knows its a common problem and might advise me how to proceed.

Is it making any noises, like a grinding, or screeching noise? My old pro-line quit driving the Rh wheel because the coupler between the trans and the "axle shaft???" stripped. There are very fine splines inside that coupling, and power comes from the output shaft of the trans, then it just spins inside the coupling
