wonding if the hydrostatic drive on these units r servicable or not. my mower after about 40 mins of use seems to not want to move and thinking that it may be the hydrostatic drive>

Hello randy... & WELCOME to LMF...

I'm going to guess that you are referring to a John Deere La130... although you also indicate you don't have a mower...
With some effort you can change the oil in the trans axle ... but before you do that, check the drive belt.... It may be worn and getting loose... :smile:KennyV

I am going to guess JD used the same tuff torq K46 tranmission in the LA series that they used in the L series. The K46 was plagued with problems, most of the time it is the oil overheating and causes other problems. There is a great thread on the rebuilding do a google search and you will find loads of articles on them.
