Hello all,
I've just gotten around to getting the '89 12hp Briggs and Stratton I/C engine out of my '88 Bolens ST120 Suburban because it needs piston rings. The more I think about it, the more I want to swap IN a 14.5hp OHV Briggs and Stratton engine that I have in a Murray tractor. Sell the Murray frame, because the Bolens is SOOOOO much better.

So my question is, is the bolt pattern the same on the 14.5hp block as on the 12hp block? If so, I think I'm going to swap out the engines, and rebuild the 12hp at my leisure. Maybe throw it (the 12hp) into the Murray if I still have it by then. Also, how about the throttle and choke linkage on the 14.5? The carb is a little different and it's about 10 years newer than the 12hp. They changed things EVER so slightly.

Thanks!

You might also want to check the crank length and diameter
