Briggs and Stratton engine - Brute 500 Lawn Mower
Lawnmower ran out of fuel. I put fresh fuel in and it wouldn't restart. I took off and cleaned air filter. I tried Quick Start fluid. I took off the gas tank including the gas intake hose, checked for blockage. Still wouldn't start... When I pull to start there is no sign that it will start. I put in a new spark plug, still will not start. It appears that it is not getting gas. I put some gas in the bowl and still will not start. I am not mechanically inclined but can follow directions. Please help. Thanks

I worked on one of those with the same problem. take the engine housing off and inspect the kill switch wire ( the wire goes from the kill switch to the coil) to see if it is against the engine block and might have worn through the wire sheathing and is causing it to short out against the engine if so cut out the bad spot and splice it back together
